Introduction
People use forums for a variety of reasons. Some people like to share their idea with others on Internet. Some people are facing problems and thus seeking for help. On the other hand, some may just want to share and promote their products or/and services. Today on the Internet, there are a few types of forum softwares available. Some may need you to pay, but some are free to start with. Vanilla Forums is one of those free forum software.
The forum admin however will have to be careful with the member system. This is because the default registration form will not be having the extra validation feature. Therefore, spammers may take their chance to slip in and spew abuse on the forums. In addition, the forum admin may be unable to reach the forum members if anything happened. For example, if the admin wants to send newsletters to the members, there is a chance that the members will never read it. This is because some members may have used disposable email addresses when registering. As a result, they will miss some important notifications from the forum.
In short, utilizing some third party plugins such as MailboxValidator Vanilla Forums add-on is crucial to the forum admin. This addon can save the forum admin time and effort, as it requires minimal steps to set up and run.
